CVSC Katana - Bronze Alpha Finalist

In only their first season playing in the prestigious Coast Soccer League (CSL) the CVSC Katana BU11 finished as Finalists in Bronze Alpha.  Posting an impressive 12-2 record.  CVSC Katana proved that technical and tactical play are the keys to success in soccer at any age.  Scoring 63 goals while only allowing 13 against, plus a 2-1-1 record in League Cup shows that they are a team to watch now and in the future.  CVSC Katana will be promoted to the Silver Division next season.  Coach Gonzo Garcia emphasizes that “while wins now are nice, championships tomorrow” is still the goal of this fine young team.

CVSC Katana B00

Katana - Pronounced kah-ta-nah, this is a type of Japanese sword also commonly referred to as a "samurai sword". This authentic Japanese sword is made from specialized Japanese steel called Tamahagane, which consist of combinations of hard, high carbon steels. The block of combined steels is heated and hammered over a long period of time, and then it is folded and hammered several times to squeeze the impurities out. The polishing is a very long and specialized process where the polisher uses finer and finer grains of polishing stones until the blade has a mirror finish in a process called glazing. This makes the blade extremely sharp, reduces drag and adds to the cutting power.
