Petition for Large Soccer Complex in Santa Maria

Santa Maria is in need of a high-quality, state-of-the-art soccer complex with space for as many as 10 to 20 fields all in one location. The City Council is currently exploring locations for a soccer complex, but they need to hear from our community's supporters for this decision to benefit not only players and their families, but also the entire community.

Parks and recreation officials have been appointed to create a plan for the proposed soccer complex in Santa Maria.

The plan will be presented December 13th at the City Council meeting. Another item on the agenda, finding land for the complex.

"We have several places identified already," said Cynthia Gudino, soccer liaison for One Community Action Coalition. "We just need to do those reports, the feasibility report and the environmental impact report just to see if that's something that we can actually do," Gudino said.

In the meantime, the commission has agreed to upgrade current soccer fields

On Tuesday 10/11/16, Parks and Recreation announced that they will form a committee with local soccer leaders to form a plan to develop fields and a Soccer Complex.
